About Us
"We want to deliver unique one-of-a-kind entertainment events that are both affordable for all and value for money"

The above quote was made at the birth of the company back in August 2005, when Paul Goodhead and Andrew Knight decided to take the plunge. They had used various ideas and created many differant entertainment aspects in the past, all of which had been tried and tested in Paul's own critically acclaimed shows.

Paul Goodhead (pictured left) has been a professional cabaret artist for over 30 years, learning his trade through the diminishing social clubs and entertainment venues, appearing in various pantomimes and even summer seasons for Pontins in Wales during the late eighties. His early successes were witnessed by audiences at Ceasers Palace (Luton) and London's famous Talk Of The Town to name just two of his critically praised triumphs! His act was also appreciated by - and he gained lasting friendships - with the vocalist Dorothy Squires and singer / actor / songwriter Anthony Newley. These friendships lasted until their deaths in 1998 and 1999. Since then he has continued to gain a loyal following and has added film work (both in front and behind the camera), radio, script writing and interviewing to his ever growing CV. He has recently completed the third collaboration to release a new CD of rare material by Anthony Newley for Stagedoor Records "Anthony Newley sings The Good Old Bad Old Days," which is currently selling well at a HMV near you!
Paul is also the President of the Anthony Newley Society which has over 1,500 members worldwide and runs it with the same conviction he gives to any of his stage shows, honouring his promise he made to Newley shortly before his death, to keep his music and work alive.
His recent work has included a series of programmes for Talking Pictures TV on stage, authors and screen stars, interviewing the legendary actress Joan Collins, Jason Dors-Lake (son of Diana Dors), Jess Conrad OBE and singer Michael Ball; sleeve notes for Vocalion and Stagedoor Records CD issues for Anthony Newley; contributed to a  BBC Radio 2 series' and an hour long special  narrated by Barbara Windsor on Newley; not forgetting his hugely successful charity events, cabaret event shows and CD albums.
His shows are always accompanied by a unique original pre-filmed featurette which is used as his introduction to the stage. His previous roles of James Bond and Doctor Who have been applauded for his marvellous comic take whilst delivering a convincing driving force which has his audiences chomping at the bit for his eventual "arrival" on stage!
Paul is currently working with Talking Pictures TV - a channel he is regularly seen on -for a selection of projects.
Paul Goodhead is also renowned as an entertainment historian of stage and film. As well as currently assisting in the Heritage Project with the Birmingham Hippodrome theatre and the Anthony Newley Archive, he is in demand for his highly entertaining talks on the business he not only knows intimately... but truly loves.

In his limited spare time Paul is finishing a glitzy, showbusiness novel called Hollywood Seven which includes classic characters, erotic episodes and even a murder. His first book release is called Success Story, based of the achievements of his late friend

Mr Anthony Newley and to date the book has sold over 15,000 copies!

He is currently compiling a series of episodes from his life to date in an autobiographical volume he is planning on releasing in 2018.

Andrew G Knight (known as Andy to his friends), has built up a vast array of experience in sound, projection and all things technical throughout the last two decades. He began as being joint director in Stagedoor Productions after looking after Paul's cabaret sound and the technical aspects of his shows for several years. Andy has also appeared in various minor acting roles both for Mallius Films and Stagedoor Productions, when he performs regularly in the Whodunnit Murder Mystery event evenings and other films.
He recently has been filming Paul's linking footage for the Talking Pictures TV programmes and on location at the Hippodrome in Birmingham.

Company history

Founded in August 2005, Stagedoor Productions Limited was set up initially as a springboard for the talents of Paul Goodhead and his increasingly popular annual event concerts. With pre-film sequences to his shows becoming a firm staple to the proceedings, it was not long before Andy suggested expansion and the company has not looked back since.
Paul's ability to take a theme such as murder mystery and recreate a new concept for it has bought the company praise from both critics and audiences alike. But bringing entertainment to the masses has always been the main goal, with value for money and tailoring to the individuals budget essential!

In 2008 the range expanded again with the introduction of the very successful 'This is Your Life' shows, which have proven to be a true audience winner for those who want something special for birthdays, anniversaries and retirement parties! The concept has continued to grow and Stagedoor now offer a range of presentations from a simple "village hall" surprise to full evening hotel surprises with guests, video footage and even cabaret if required.

Budgets in recession times has always been at the forefront and Stagedoor Productions have always been very keen to not only keep within the boundaries of clients spending... in fact, in 2012 through to 2015 they even managed to make savings for them!
We will continue to provide value for money and make savings for our clients throughout 2015/16.

A small company with big plans is the way forward for Stagedoor Productions and more new concepts including a new look to "Quiz Nights" which is now available for 2016 with the all new "TRIVIA ENTERTAINMENT NIGHT!"

Customer testimonials
Our customers are the most important part of our business. Their word is more powerful than anything we can say. Here are just some of their appraisals..........

Lesley Chester, PA Resource Group Limited
Stagedoor Productions put on an excellent Murder Mystery event for our company’s Christmas lunch in December 2014.  It was well organised and delivered by Paul and the cast adding fun and entertainment at our event.  Including some of our members of staff in the “movie” and filming at our office premises was an additional highlight.

Teekay Shipping - London

We contracted Paul Goodhead to provide a ‘this is your life’ experience for a colleague retiring from our company. We found the preparatory process to be efficiently handled by Paul, with clear instructions given on what we needed to provide to optimize the experience. The materials used in the presentation, written and visual, were very good and much appreciated by the attendees and by our colleague. Paul’s presentation was humorous but also affectionate, striking a very good tone for the event. Feedback from participants was universally positive.

We would use Paul’s services again and would certainly recommend him to others.

Oliver Lomox - Vocalion Records

"Perfect... just what we wanted and fitting for a Vocalion title."

Dave Barber - BBC Radio 2
"Your assistance and knowledge has been paramount. Without your input the series would have been possible but much more difficult. Thank you very much."

PRIVATE BOOKINGS:
Pete Tote - This is Your Life (2017)
I have no hesitation in recommending Paul Goodhead and his superb work. He delivered a first class performance, taking personal control over my wife's surprise event from the beginning and was true to his word in giving a quality performance and service. Thank you.

Angela Glover - This is Your Life (2016)
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the way you presented the This Is Your Life show for my mum's 60th birthday. The way Paul handled her when he surprised her with the red book was simply fantastic.
The evening was a great sucess thanks to you guys and the big red book was just like they had on the TV!
I'll be booking you guys again soon as mum says she wants to be in a murder mystery night for her next birthday!!

Stephanie Lovell - Paul's Show (2015)
I had to write and say how much my friends and I enjoyed your latest event into the swing era. The Dr Who film sequence with Paul regenerating from the Doctor into his singing self had us in stiches! I loved the Mr Bojangles set and can't wait to book for the next Annual Event.

Mr G Prince - Whodunnit Murder Mystery (2016)
What a fantastic evening from start to finish. Professionally staged, good interaction with the guests, great movie - just like the cinema... And thanks for working within our budget which made choosing you the only solution. Value for money indeed, thank you.
